Camping Food

Published by pattye under Dinners Edit This

I recently went shopping for our upcoming camping trip.  I had quite a long list this time because the last time we went, I didn’t buy enough good snack food.  It’s funny that I can be at home and not need the snack food, but put me in the motor home and I am craving everything.  I was very excited because one of the local grocery stores had the Blue Bunny Banana Split Ice Cream on sale.  It comes in small container.  I think it is supposed to serve two, but it serves me just fine.  LOL   I stocked up on it.  My husband says it is not very economical even on sale, but I say it is.  I would eat more if I purchased a half gallon and I don’t need to do that.  Hubby wouldn’t eat it and then I would feel that I should so that it didn’t go to waste.  So, I feel the small containers are perfect, especially for me and camping.

I purchased cream horns for Hubby.  He loves those, but it is a camping food for him.  I also purchased Pop Tarts, Egg Beaters (because they are easier to take than regular eggs), sausage, lunchmeat, cookies, chips, donuts and several other snacks.  I forgot the peanuts though.  I looked at my food as I was checking out and realized how much junk food I had purchased.  I was embarrassed.  I told the cashier that it was camping food and we did have salad at home.  That made me feel better somehow.  LOL
