Salisbury Steak - My Way - Hubby Rating
I found a recipe for salisbury steak in one of my Kraft magazines. I didn’t like the flavor of stuffing mix that it called for, so I decided to use a different flavor. My best friend makes salisbury steak all the time and I think she pan fries hers. This recipe called for it to be baked. I thought the pan frying sounded better, but my husband didn’t think it sounded correct. I just did what the recipe said to do.
Here is the recipe:
My Salisbury Steak
Ingredients
1 lb of ground beef
1 box of Stove Top Stuffing Mix - Chicken Flavor
1 1/4 cup of water
1/2 cup of chopped onions
1 can of sliced mushrooms
1 jar of brown gravy
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix meat, stuffing mix, water, and onions until well blended. Shape into six 1/2 inch oval patties. Bake on foil lined cookie sheet.
Bake 25 minutes or until cooked through - 160 degrees.
Heat mushrooms in a sauce pan and add gravy. Heat until hot. Pour over the baked salisbury steaks.
My Rating:
This was a very easy recipe to make. Basically, it is just my meat loaf recipe. It only took a few minutes to prepare it and then the baking time.
However, I did not like the taste of this at all. I could really taste the stuffing mix and I didn’t like that. Maybe it was just my taste buds tonight or something. I didn’t even finish my portion.
I give this a 1 out of 5.

Hubby’s Rating:
Hubby didn’t care much for this either. He likes my meat loaf, but maybe the ketchup on the meat loaf covers up the stuffing taste more than we realize. Maybe I need to stop using the stuffing mix and go back to bread crumbs. LOL
Hubby gives it 2 out of 5.
