Any-Fruit Cobbler

Published by pattye under Desserts Edit This

This is a very easy recipe.  I highly recommend this type of recipe when you are teaching a child to cook and/or bake.

It only takes a few common ingredients, so if you have any type of pie filling in your house, you are ready to go.

Any-Fruit Cobbler

Ingredients

1/2 cup of butter or margarine

1 cup flour

1 cup granulated sugar

2 tsp. baking powder

3/4 cup milk

1/4 tsp. salt

1 can pie filling

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Melt butter in baking pan. Stir in flour, sugar, baking powder, milk and salt until smooth.  Add fruit to the top.  Don’t stir.  Bake for one hour.

See, wasn’t that easy?  This could easily be made on a week night.  Imagine how surprised your kids will be when you pull out a dessert for dinner.  Top it with a little ice cream or whipped topping.  It will make an ordinary night special.

Speaking of desserts… do you serve a dessert with your week night dinners?  I remember when I was young, my cousin stayed with us in the summer.  Each day, we would work on a pudding dessert for dinner. We would place a layer of pudding in a glass and then add whipped cream, then pudding, whipped cream, etc.  I bet we went through a lot of milk back then.  LOL  We had a lot of fun making our fancy desserts though.
