Disappointing Dinner
We had beautiful weather today. It was in the 60’s and nice and sunny. It was a welcome relief from the cold weather we had earlier in the week. I went grocery shopping today and when I saw pork steaks on sale, I decided to barbecue tonight. I looked forward to it all afternoon.
I lit the gas barbecue grill and came back in the house to prepare the pork steaks for the grill. I checked on the grill and noticed the flame seemed faint. I checked to make sure that I had the propane tank turned on and I did. Unfortunately, it appears that I only had enough propane to light the grill for about five minutes. We live 30 minutes from town. It would take an hour round trip to buy a refill. It was getting late, so I decided to prepare the pork steaks on the indoor grill. I do not like barbecuing on it because the barbecue sauce makes a mess on the grill. Also, I prefer the taste better on the outdoor grill. I love the indoor grill for regular steaks, but not pork steaks. I went ahead and prepared them indoors because I really do not know when I will buy the propane and I had my heart set on pork steaks.
Don’t worry about the smoke. We have a huge exhaust fan that keeps it where it should be and not in the rest of the house. It stays right above the grill. Barbecuing causes a lot more smoke than grilling other things.
The steaks turned out okay, but I should have waited. They would have been so much better prepared outdoors. LOL
