Crock Pot Pulled Pork

This is a very easy recipe because you make it in the crock pot.  What is easier than crock pot cooking?  The only thing easier is someone else cooking for you.

This is a great recipe for a summer’s day or even a snowy day when you are dreaming about summer weather.  We make this recipe while camping.  We lounge around the campsite while the crock pot does all the work for us.  This is great served on a bun with a side dish of green beans and potatoes or if that is too much work, then just serve it with some chips.

Crock Pot Pulled Pork

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 boneless pork shoulder roast, about 2 1/2 to 3 pounds
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 bottle (12 ounces) barbecue sauce, your favorite
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons honey, or to taste
  • dash of pepper

PREPARATION:

Place pork roast in a lightly greased 3 1/2 to 5-quart slow cooker. Combine onion, barbecue sauce, honey, and hot pepper; pour over roast. Cover and cook on LOW setting for 7 to 9 hours. Separate the pork with a fork. Serve on buns.

It’s great with slaw, chips, potatoes, just about anything.

This is also a great meal to prepare while camping.
